I tried to embed a google map in my web page, but received an error message saying that I did not have permission to do so. Is this a dreamhost thing or have I done some thing wrong? thanks!

Did you get/use an api key for your domain from http://code.google.com/apis/maps/ ?

Was the error message a server-side or client-side error? If it's an issue with the server setup it could be an Apache error, but if it is due to an issue with Google it would be a client-side javascript error I believe. Serg gives good advice though, you must ensure that the calling domain has a valid registration key with Google.
