Hi folks.

DH support CLI for FTP commands? I can't seem to login with a working account in the CLI:

Connected to ftp.domain.com.
220 ProFTPD 1.3.1rc2 Server (DreamHost FTP) [xxx.xxx.xxx.xx]
331 Password required for account15
230 User account15 logged in
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
200 Type set to I
501 Invalid number of arguments
221 Goodbye.

Any guidance appreciated.

Cheers

I try it and don't have any problem with that.

No that is during login. It boots me out once I log in.

I should post my login command:

ftp ftp://username:password@ftp.domain.com

IT connects, tells me what kind of ftp server it is, sets type to I, then says I mis-entered something, boots me out.

OK, that was it. Can I ask what you use for login command? I split it up and it worked:

ftp ftp.domain.com
-> username
-> password

ftp>

Glad to hear it.

Well, I use step by step command actually. It is :
1. ftp
2. open ftp.domain.com
3. asking username and password
4. login through
5. if you fail or wrongly enter your password. You could just try to login again using

Hey there.

I prefer the single line entry as I'm going in through a programmed interface. Now I have to wait for feedback to give further lines.

Oh well, at least I found what it is I'm looking for. Now I can use DH as automated media server. Righteous, dude!

Hey man what's the deal with your promo code? $97 off a year is like $20 for a year.

Exactly, it is $22 if you take a DH's one year plan by using any of $97 off promo codes (mine is supernova).

And you can create your own using DH's panel at rewards section. $97 is the maximum discount you can give to someone on yearly plans. Beside of the discount you can also give additional domain, space, bandwidth or even unique ip address. wink

Check out instructions on how to apply the code !Edited by supernova on 11/16/07 06:55 AM (server time).

It is actually. Beside that if any person sign up with your referral code, and that person refer another person again you can get immediate commission. wink

Check this out.

OK, back to the FTP issue...

I'm trying to BASH the login. I'm going to be controlling this through middleware, so I am trying to find a way of logging in.

Do you know of any way to login using a single line? I've tried as much as I can, can't get in.
