Site hijacked?

Hello,

I have a weird problem here, I've contacted support team already, but I want to know if my issue has happened before to someone else.

I registered rawcinema.net a couple of weeks ago, and didn't do anything to that account, didn't upload a single file not even an index.htm.

Today, I load the domain in my browser and another site pops-up.

How did he access my account?

I try to log in via FTP and fail.

The guy just copy pasted his site: http://sparcdr.com/ onto my hosting and just changed the links.

http://sparcdr.com/ and http://rawcinema.net/ are the same thing.

I don't get it, but it scares me that he or someone else can just upload files to other accounts I currently use.

My advice would be to contact Dreamhost as soon as possible, if you cannot login to the control panel to log a support request because your account has been compromised use Dreamhost's contact form instead.

When you registered the domain, did you also add it to the hosting system via Domains -> Manage Domains -> Add New Domain / Sub-Domain ?

If not, then, assuming the domain had its name servers set to DreamHost, it is possible that another customer has simply added the domain to the hosting system under their account. This would create a web-directory for the domain under their account, not your account.

Unfortunately, if this is indeed what has happened, then I don't think you will be able to add the domain under your account until it has been removed from the other account.

Well it turns out that it was an ip problem.

Every thing was fixed while I was sleeping :p

This has been my first issue with DH, but I'm very impressed at how fast their support team is to answer and actually solve the problem.

I can't imagine this kind of service on my older host(tecnomediahosting.com). DH seems light years ahead.

Thanks for the comments guys.

They're pretty good aren't they? It's a joy dealing with a support team that actually seems to know their stuff. Of-course, if you throw them a particularly difficult question, it can take a little longer for them to get back to you, but at least you (mostly) get a decent reply, not some canned response.
