Upload errors

I am getting the following error when I attempt to upload a file using webftp.dreamhost.com. This was not a problem until this program upgrade. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? This happens regardless of file size. I tried even a 10kb file, which failed.
Could not generate a temporary file.
The error occured in file /usr/local/ndn/web/webftp/includes/filesystem.inc.php on line 1734.
