DB Transfer from 1and 1 to Dreamhost

I saved the database from the old blog and have a new blog set up on dreamhost, but can't seem to import the database to dreamhost. Help?

Welcome, how are you backing up your db on 1 & 1? via phpmyadmin?
You have a laarge .sql file? maybe you have restaured correctly your db and can't connect.
