Alright, I signed up like 20 minutes ago, so I'm a noob.

Not sure if this is the right place, but where do I manage my files, databases, ftp, and everything?

Is there a Cpanel?

[Added: FIRST POST!!!]

Have you gotten your "welcome" mail with server name and that kind of stuff?

If so, go to https://panel.dreamhost.com and EVERYTHING is there. It's not cpanel, it's better... well, DIFFERENT!

That should get you started.

Firstly, has you account been approved yet? If so, you should have received an email giving you details of how to log-in to the admin panel and your FTP details etc.

DreamHost does not use cPanel, they use a custom written admin panel. You can log-in to the panel at the link below using the email address and password you specified during the sign-up process, however, if your account is still pending approval you will not be able to do a lot yet.

Edit: I must learn to type faster :)

Thank you both for your help, I got my ftp going, mysql uploaded, files uploaded, I tested, and everything runs fine! :) so far I'm very pleased.

I tested my site, it works perfect, except for one thing :( I need PHP 5, i am getting an undefined function error, which is only supported by PHP 5. do I have to enable it is PHP 4 defaulted?

well... Here is the site if you want to look :-) http://tzfiles.com -- I hope you like.

In the control panel under "Manage Domains" you can select between php 4 and php 5.

Congrats!

The default setting of a hosting is PHP 5 and DH supports only PHP 5.1.2 so far.

If you never change the PHP version setting before and have PHP error, you may need to consider to modify some parts of your PHP codes.

an undefined function error

Consider posting the function and its surrounding code here. We may be able to identify the problem.
