Is it possible to setup a wordpress on DreamHost that employs / works with https?

Sure, you'd do this the same way you'd set up any SSL site. Just be sure to use https: URLs in the Wordpress settings (Wordpress address, blog address).
For SSL on Dreamhost, you'll need to buy an IP address and SSL certificate. See the panel to order.
