Subdomain error

Im trying to cloak a subdomain from http://ancafe.net/foolsmate to http://foolsmate.ancafe.net.

when i hit apply, i am getting this error message
Invalid domain: "netfoolsmate" is not a valid TLD for a domain!.
after the domain i want to cloak.

I have never had this problem before. Its like its not seeing the backslash after .net
anyone got any ideas?

If you're trying to cloak ancafe.net/foolsmate to look like it's really foolsmate.ancafe.net, I don't think you can cloak a subdirectory. I think this scheme falls down because that subdirectory is not a root directory, therefore it's possible to go up a directory and blow the scheme.

One thought that comes to mind is to use shell access and create a link:
mv foolsmate.ancafe.net foolsmate.ancafe.net.old (rename your fully hosted subdomain to get it out of the way)
ln -s ancafe.net/foolsmate foolsmate.ancafe.net (points your subdomain to the subdirectory)

I don't know if this will work. Maybe someone will have a more graceful approach.

Seeing how the two sites really to appear separate from each other, why not do it right and install foolsmate in the fully hosted subdomain directory?

On second thought, you can do it manually:

Create the fully hosted subdomain foolsmate.ancafe.net
In the newly created subdomain, create an index.html that's a single frame, and put in the frame content to display ancafe.net/foolsmate

I don't have html coding for frames handy, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

When referring to subdirectories, it's best to include the trailing slash:

http://ancafe.net/foolsmate/

to avoid an unnecessary extra server redirect from the slashless version.

I don't know why you don't just make the subdomain address fully-hosted and move the actual content into it anyway, to avoid the unnecessary and annoying frameset.
