Possibly the best argument in favor of DreamHost is actually you yourself. I can't think of any other webhost cool enough to put up with a trash talking troll like you on their forums for this long without a ban.

Let's tally it up, shall we?

- Impersonation of a forum member
- Blatantly posting referral links for webhosts in competition with DreamHost
- Flaming
- Creating multiple useless spam threads
- Polluting legitimate threads with troll garbage

...Yet, you and the textual vomit you have regurgitated all over this forum are still here. That shows me that DreamHost is honest, not afraid of their competition, and perhaps most importantly, they hesitate to enforce censorship.

Good job, DreamHost!

You know, if Dreamhost forum software would simply show the IP address of the poster, I'm *quite sure* we could find some inventive ways of dealing with this idiot ourselves

At any rate, I'd rather put up with a certain amount of this idiocy than have to forum censored. Dreamhost is a lot more tolerant than I would be.

Yes, it is cool...dreamhost rocks, man... I friggin' LOVE
this hosting company!

I'm amazed that you were clever enough to discover my use of high tech link cloaking with the hosting links.

Yes, I use a TOP SECRET javascript code that hides the referral code.... I wait until DreamHost goes down (which happens quite frequently)...and then BAM! I hit everyone up with the alternate hosting company scam. I'm a freaking genius...but YOU are the master genius for discovering my little ploy. I bow in reverence to you.

And it has worked! My clever scheme (thanks to Dreamhost) has brought me in over $9,349,340.85 in this year alone!!!

Tell me oh great one... how exactly did I do it? I want to test you JUST to make sure you really are THE one and only
true genius.

Wow, thanks for sharing your incomprehensible nonsense. Great stuff. You don't even really have anything to say anymore. Are you a cleverly crafted spambot with a modified Alice AI, mayhaps?

Easy boys!! None of us are happy right now. But flaming is probably only going to get them pulling posts faster than any talk about moving and alternative hosting companies.

I've had some kind of DH account for over 7 years now, and these past few months really are the worst I've seen it. And I can't deny I'm beginning looking around for at least one of my DH accounts (since downtime is not the only issue with it). DH is surely rational enough to realize many of us are thinking this about now. They're not stupid and I'm sure they're sweating.

But flaming each other here won't help get our sites up any faster, especially if they have to take the time to check out these message boards. Flaming DH won't help either. Do YOU work harder if someone's being a jerk and you're already doing the best you can (which I trust that they are)? Bet not. I know I don't.

If you want to discuss moving, or other hosts, or if the other hosts are horrible or not, or question anyone's intentions, just at least be civil about it!

Honesty and being up front has always been one of DHs biggest assets, way WAY above and beyond any of the several other hosts I've used. It's why I'm trying REAL hard not to have to move, I have a lot of respect for these guys. And I think they have a lot of respect for us too. That's probably why they're not instantly removing the posts about alternative hosts, fair complaints, etc.

If you've ever worked much on hardware, then you'll know chronic problems can be a real b!tch to throughly ferret out. Troubleshooting multiple problems at once is 10x harder. But if they can get their cage moves and power problems and network issues straightened out for once and for all, hopefully we'll have our good DH back!!!

Actually, as near as I can tell, everyone -- even the people who are unhappy with DreamHost -- are being civil about it. The single source of fuel for this particular flame is sei1er (note the 1 instead of L) aka "alternativehosting" -- just read a few more of his incendiary "posts" and you'll see why.
