Where are domains hosted?

I just registered domain and hosting with dreamhost. But the DNS info hasn't spread around yet. However, I would like to still view and work on my site without having to wait 2-3 days.
Is there a direct IP or something I can goto to get to my website? Probally IP/directory since it's shared hosting. I need to view my site so I can finish setting up joomla.
