Streaming and Subdomains

I set up streaming on my account earlier today (appx. 4 hours ago). Do I need to also create the subdomain that will be used for streaming or is that automatically created? I ask because from the server itself I can't ping the new subdomain (media.example.com). I know DNS may not have propagated across the net, but usually when I hook up my DH account with a new subdomain I'm able to ping it from the server itself immediately.

This is for a dedicated server. Don't know if that part matters...

If dedicated servers use the same Panel as shared servers, then no, you don't have to set up the subdomain. It won't even show up in your Manage Domains list, but it should show up in your Goodies->Streaming list, and inside your user's home directory.

So hopefully, it's shown up for you by now.
