When you signed up for the service, DreamHost will have sent you an email (to the email address you provided) that includes all the information you need.
Once your domain has propagated through the Domain Name Server system, you will be able to use FTP to connect to your hosting space. Before that time, you can only connect to the space by accessing the server name for the server they have placed you on. All that information can be found in the "welcome" email you have been sent.
