Importing / exporting mailboxes

Hi, with my current hosting provider for a domain I have, the mailboxes are in 3 different files, labled as such
username
username#domain.com
username@domain.com
- they are all the same size and creation date, and have no extentions. Any idea on what kind of mailbox this is, and how I can port it over to dreamhost?
