SSH Problem/Subversion

I am trying to set up SSH so I can use subversion...and can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I have followed the directions for setting up PuTTY exactly as specified in http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/Subversion and when all done, it does not work. When trying to connect, PuTTY hangs for a few seconds and then reports 'Server unexpectedly closed network connection'. I've tried this several times with the same results. Anyone have any clue or how to debug this? Thanks...
