Hi guys, hope this isn't too simple a question, but I'm using an external MySQL editor (MySQL-Front) and was trying to connect to my dreamhost db. It requires a server to connect to, and I've tried mysql.<site>.com, <site>.com, etc (on port 3306) all with no success.
Has anyone tried this and got it working?

You need to connect to the hostname you gave your database when you first created it.
You also need to define the IP addresses your user is allowed to connect from to include your external IP address. This can be done from the MySQL section of the Control Panel (click modify on a database user).

But is there any way to set it up if i have a dynamic ip and don't want everyone on my isp block to have access??
