Is mod_rewrite enabled by default?

Hi,

The knowledgebase doesn't make it clear whether mod_rewrite is enabled by default. I understand that Dreamhost prefers to run PHP as CGI, and I don't know whether that has anything to do with my issues, but basically Im having trouble getting the 'SEF (search engine friendly) Advance' module for Mambo working on my DH account.

The problems I'm having suggest that mod_rewrite isn't running (i.e. lots of 404 errors on links). Can anyone say for sure?

Cheers,
t

mod_rewrite is enabled for all domains by default.

Something to keep in mind is that rewriterules may behave differently depending on whether they're located in the main Apache virtualhost config or an .htaccess file. Your rules may need slight modification.
