Were accessing ftp at lansky.dreamhost.com now it appears we need to use brumbies.dreamhost.com. The problem being that we had set up some folders and uploaded some files that are now gone.
Did I miss some sort of announcement that this was coming?

You should upload to EXAMPLE.com. Uploading to MACHINE.dreamhost.com is only in case your DNS is offline. When they move you to another machine, they leave your old server account in place for a little bit just in case. You usually receive some sort of notice when this happens, sometimes after the fact when it's an emergency move.

Send a ticket into Support outlining what you've said here. They may be able to restore the files to the correct server.
