500 error on dreamhost PS

I'm trying to process/import a very large amount of images to a php gallery application. When doing the import, after a few moments I usually run into a http 500 error. I assume that its happening because I am running out of resources on my Dreamhost PS. Would it be stupid to temporarily max out my resources, do the import, and then lower my resources back down?

Always max them out when you need them wink

You only pay for the actual time you use the higher settings, so it won't impact on your bill too much if you max them out then switch back after your job is done.
