Rails upgrade, where are you?

On July 23, Dreamhost announced:
"We have the packages built and ready to go! During the next week, we’ll slowly be rolling out Rails 2.3.3. ... All of our servers should be updated by the end of next week. If you see any problems with your installs related to the upgrade, please contact support." http://www.dreamhoststatus.com/2009/07/23/new-rails-version-233/

At that point, Rails 2.3 was already half a year old (2.3.0 was released on February 1st.)

And here we are six weeks later, still stuck with that horribly outdated version 2.2.2. For the rest of the world, 2.3.4 just came out. Vendoring Rails is not really an option, because the incompatibility with the old Passenger version breaks sessions.

No sign of a Rails upgrade and not a word from Dreamhost ever since. What the hell is going on?

I will, but I think if they make a public announcement and it doesn't go as smoothly as expected, they should follow up on that publicly. Instead they just closed comments on the dreamhoststatus thread.

Yeah, that seems a bit shoddy.

Could be someone skipped your server or something. Let us know how you go with Support.
