file permissions in webdav

i have a webdav directory that i want to use for sharing calendars. I tried modifying the permissions on the files in the directory with chmod but i get operation not allowed.

How can i change the permissions on files uploaded by other users in the directory?

That user would have to change the permissions. Once WebDAV takes over, all activities have to be done via WebDAV.
