Uploading site what is the dest. of the domain

How do I upload a site I understand the DTP and everything at my pervious host I would select the domain and select which folder I want it pointed to while on here you cant do that.
My domain leads to a page that says Index of then list home I have uploaded things to that folder but it still never goes to the index page when typing the domain name in it just goes to the page where it says index of
What am I doing wrong?
