TIP: GMail MX CNAME early adopters

I started using Google Apps with DreamHost as soon as it was announced. I've not been able to use mail.sayspin.com (sayspin = my site) but I think I've just fixed the problem.
I think DH initially had a bug where the Google Apps DNS records were missing the CNAME for "mail.sayspin.com" -- it had an MX for that but not a CNAME. I would visit mail.sayspin.com and get an error page.
I un-setup GMail for my site, then re-setup it.
Is it correct to have both a CNAME and a MX record named the same, "mail" in this case?
NOW:
Record (sayspin.com zone) Type Value
MX 0 aspmx.l.google.com.
calendar CNAME ghs.google.com.
docs CNAME ghs.google.com.
mail MX 0 aspmx.l.google.com.
mail CNAME ghs.google.com.
Mac:~ xxx$ host mail.sayspin.com
mail.sayspin.com is an alias for ghs.google.com.
ghs.google.com is an alias for ghs.l.google.com.
ghs.l.google.com has address 209.85.171.121
Thanks,
Nick
