heavy usage - access logs

Dreamhost just recently set me with a Private Server. But my usage seems a little high and they advised me to investigate why the usage is so heavy - perhaps -

The main causes you will find are abuse from specific IPs or inefficient scripts. In the case where it is abuse you should be able to determine the cause if you specifically look at each of the access logs for your domains located in ~/logs/yourdomain.com/http -

I am lost in this area. It says I might need to enter a command - and possibly block and IP.....

Is anyone available for hire? to help me with this??

Are you running a WordPress Cache plugin? One comes with it, and is usually turned on by default. There's also SuperCache, which is supposed to be a bit better.
