Error 500/slow mediawiki

Hi,

My wiki has been very slow to load or simply returns 500 Internal Server Errors this morning. I've already submitted a report to support, but I thought I also ask here, in case anyone else is experiencing a similar problem.

The errors occur on all pages, but here are a couple from the error log:

[Fri Oct 31 07:11:25 2008] [error] [client 128.104.97.50] Premature end of script headers: index.php, referer: http://www.writingtechnology.net/index.php?title=Help:Contents
[Fri Oct 31 07:11:25 2008] [error] [client 128.104.97.50] File does not exist: /home/newmediapedia/writingtechnology.net/internal_error.html, referer: http://www.writingtechnology.net/index.php?title=Help:Contents

This was the first time I've had any problems, and it was pretty frustrating because I was having a dozen students working on it (or not working on it) this morning. But, then, maybe that was part of the problem?

Thanks!

haha, indeed.

Login to FTP and review your .htaccess file, then check the index.php itself.

Sorry! But I'm new to the behind-the-scenes elements of mediawiki. What should I be looking for in those files to let me know what the problems are?

Thanks.

Are you located on Genovese server or using Barbaro SQL server? If so, we are having big problems as well, since Friday.
