install script issue (c-client stuck)

I'm trying to build php5 via Charles Wiltgen script from http://wiki.dreamhost.com/PHP5_installscript. Prep runs fine and install is fine till it gets to the block that installs c-client. its been stuck on "making..." for 45 mins now. I have double checked the lib did download fine, it looks to be running the makefile but never ends. Any ideas from the shell script guru's? I have some basic linux skills but no shell script skills. I think my next step will be to run the make file but im not sure where to put things afterwards...

Ideas?

also worth noting i have installed and updated many times before with no issues. And this is a brand new domain with a fresh folder.

It's because anyone can edit the Wiki, even if they have no clue.

What's the reason you're running the script? There's almost certainly a better alternative.
