Moving a Site from GoDaddy to DH

Hello, I have a great question. I am wanting to move a site that is PHP based from being hosted at GoDaddy to the new hosting at Dreamhost, but I am wondering if his site will break if it has databases setup for his current site.

Is there an easy, pain-free way to transfer his site's files without his site breaking in Dreamhost?

Thanks for your help,
Spencer

I moved to dreamhost from GoDaddy over a year ago and I found the easiest way is to use FTP. With the php, the I had very few problems so it should be a very simple process.

Did your PHP based site store data in mysql databases? I'm trying to figure out if those settings need to be in place before I transfer files over. Do you have any idea?

Thanks for your reply,
Spencer
