Where do I type the command lines in for shell. I have looked every where and cant find anything including the wiki. Is it a program which I have to download to enter the commands or is it a web page? Please help!!

If you're on Windows, you'll need to download a secure shell client. I recommend Putty or SecureCRT.
Once installed, connect to your Dreamhost server. You can see which server to connect to under the panel's Users/Manage Users section. Make sure the user you are trying to login as has "shell" access.
