Blog Promotion

I'm using Movable Type to blog my website. I believe it gives more control over nearly every aspect of blogging in comparing to Wordpress or any other blogging software. My site is about 4-5 days old and already has 4 postings on it. Now, the blog is about how messed up our surroundings may be and actually are. As a mater of fact, it's up to you where to put this blog's category. I just write about what I see everyday. Now, some people suggested the Digg effect. However, I'm not sure about that because the blog is a newborn and not many people are going to visit a website that they have no idea about. Talking about online promotion [I know I can post paper banners in my building, which isn't a bad idea after all], how would you go about promoting your blog?

Well, one way to go about it is by putting a link to your blog in your signature on forums that you visit frequently. There are also blog directories that you can submit your blog to. If you visit irc channels frequently you can probably post your link there and a few people will take notice. If you have other websites, link back to your blog on them. You can also do link exchanges with people.
