Link exchange among Dreamhosters ?

Hi,

Just a humble suggestion : can we add a forum for link exchange requests among Dreamhost users ?

I am like many webmasters interested in exchanging links
with similar websites - so why not be able to do it here
instead of going to other forums ...

I tend to avoid reciprocal links these days on my main sites with Google devaluing them, but you are welcome to submit your site to the directory in my signature. smile

Thanks for the info - I will

For a limited time, I am also offering webmasters and site owners to publish a review of their site on my articles directory free (no registration required - 100% free - no reciprocal link required but appreciated)
and get free 1 way links to their site this way

I have to agree about reciprocal links: I don’t think it is a good idea unless the sites really match in theme.

When I get in a mood to get links I usually go to Digital Point and submit to some of the guys who are looking to provide free listings. Honestly, I don’t think it is that valuable but I like to have five or so.

I always submit to DMOZ and the Yahoo Directory (free). Some get in fast, others later, a few never.

I think google knows about link farms and your link is much more important on a site which is relevant. Isn't DMOZ rather picky about which sites it lets in? Once your in though most of the major engines use it...

DMOZ is not as beneficial as it used to be. It can now take >6 months to have a link added and most people with sites listed there report minimal links. Few of the pages would add much to your page rank, but it is free.

It really depends on which DMOZ form you submit to. I am the editor of the NHL Panthers section now and there's no more than a 36 hour turnaround to qualified links. Other sections have less dedicated editors and take longer -- worse some sections have NO editors and it takes ages because people have to work from the pool and check them.

Back to the suggestion: I think this is a fantastic idea. We should be able to figure out what other people's sites are and share links and relate to each other's websites. It's a nice thing for each other.

Hehe, interesting use of anchor text for your signature NineThreeNine, not sure how many people will search for "Googlebot go here please", but you rank no.1 for that phrase. smile

Haha ... at least now he can claim he is #1 for something....

So what is the best site with constantly updated content related to SEO... I am looking for something that is actually reliable.

Thanks

FWIW, back in the day there was an unofficial customer directory site, but now it just re-directs to Dreamhost's home page.
