Question about Dreamhost Redirect

Does anybody know if a redirected a URL will pass Google PageRank? I know that a standard 301 redirect will, but I am not sure how the Dreamhost redirect is set up.

I bought an old domain and want to redirect it to another website (appropriate in content) so it will pass link juice in addition to direct traffic.

If you're talking about setting a domain to redirect in the control panel, that would still be a 301.
