Need Education Backlinks? Upcoming Bookmark site

Anyone running an education website might be interested in checking out my education 2.0 bookmarking domain hosted here on Dreamhost. I've had it up for a little while messing around with the look and technical stuff, now I'm starting to build up pagerank for it and seeing that Google is indexing the pages and following the outbound links pretty quickly.

So yeah, if you're running anything related to school, teaching, college etc... post a link on the site and get your free share of whatever pagerank and traffic I can build up over the next few months. I'm also running a scholarship discussion forum that isn't on Dreamhost, so you could get some links there, too, from a different IP/domain.

Just because the word "promotion" is in the title of the forum, it is not an invitation to linkspam your site. A post whose only purpose is to facilitate traffic to, or participation on, your site is exactly that, and can be a violation of the DreamHost TOS.

Links to your sites in your sig would have been acceptable if there had been any other content of value in your post ... and in this case there wasn't.

I'm trying to offer some link-building resources in a tough niche. If that's too commercial for the Promotion section, no wonder its a ghost town in here.

Right, this forum isn't for promotion, its for tumbleweeds.

Why don't you post some social bookmarking sites and forums that allow signature links, since we're not allowed to?

Correct! I'm glad we have that worked out.

You are welcome to post "signature" links (meaning a link embedded in your signature line) in these forums, as long as getting those links in front of Google is not the only reason for the post. I have not objected to your previous "signature" links here, and I didn't remove *those* links from your post.

Your first promotional link touting one of your projects was posted earlier in this forum (in response to a 2 month old thread) and was noted, but not commented on. Linking to that same site here again, and adding another to the mix, is not appropriate. These forums are not link farms, and do not exist to provide advertising space for your sites.

If you are looking for "social bookmarking sites", I've heard that you can find almost anything using Google; you might give that a try.
