MySQL Connection Problems?

Hello, whenever I try to create register and login scripts for my website, I get the error message
"Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /home/.reebok/penguins442/vibrai.com/login2.php on line 7
cannot connect"
How do I fix this? I thought I had everything set up correctly. Thanks!
