Is it possible to host sites with dynamic sub-domain on the dreamhost shared host account??
Ex: http://xyz.site.com
or http://abc.site.com

That sounds like you are talking about "Wildcard DNS". If so, while it is not done by default on DH, it *can* be enabled for a given domain by support if you can make a strong case for why you need it and demonstrate your ability to manage it.
