Site unresponsive after a few AJAX requests

Hi,
I recently relocated my Rails app to DreamHost and now it seems to get stuck whenever I use the AJAX search function on the left a couple of times. In the log it says:
A SystemExit occurred in
store#cars
exit /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-1.1.6/lib/fcgi_handler.rb:126:in `exit'
This means FastCGI is to blame, right?
