Traffic logs

Does anyone know where - if possible - I can access the daily traffic logs for a site?

Before 1/9/06, the Analog data was preserved in a log directory that I parsed the last weeks' worth of files to present in graphic form.

Now, all of the Analog data is gone, yet the data must exist _somewhere_ in some form, since the control panel still has daily traffic values available.

Does anyone know where that data is now being kept? And, if so, is it accessible by a user script?

You should beable to find it by going to http://www.yourwebsite.ext/stats
Just replace the above with the name of your website and you will need to know the username of your account and the password. Which should be changable in your webpanel. Plus in the webpanel should be a link similar to the above in the status page.

I'm still getting access and error logs created in the logs directory. Perhaps something went wonky with settings and you should ask support about it.

Yes, I know about the stats page.

What I was looking for was access to the underlying data that drives the daily summary pages. That used to exist by looking at the summary files Analog used, after early January, those files are gone or moved.

FWIW, I still have directories under ~/logs/example.com/http/ that have recent summary info:

./analog
./hits
./html

Maybe it's a Support thing.

When I first posted about this back on 1/15, my only reply was someone else confirming that the same thing happened to her account.

My '/logs/xxxx.thefifthimperium.com/http/hits' directory is empty for all of my subdomains. It stopped adding files on 1/9 and somewhere around 1/20 the old files all evaporated.

I'll have to dig out one of my old archive files to see just what types of files there were, but IIRC, I had a daily summary file for each day going back to the start of my account.

I have a simple script I whipped up back in October to parse each 'bandwidth.YYYYMMDD' file for the summary line and then graph it for the calendar month and billing cycle, like I currently do for my last weeks' worth of CPU minutes on another page I have.

My access and error logs were unaffected. The missing files seemed to be daily summary files which I though were generated by Analog.

So, it seems you're talking about the CPU Usage/Resources report files.

As said here in this thread, and as confirmed by similarity with the sample report here, these reports are from GNU accounting utilities, not from Analog.

Only suggestion I have is check the setting on your user (Users, Manage Users, Edit) and make sure CPU Reporting is still On/Checked. You might try turning it off and back on, but probably takes at least a day to restart.

Other than that, I still say check with Support for a server glitch.

No. That's not what I'm talking about at all.

The CPU usage graph and the daily traffic graphs I have are unrelated beyond the fact that they use the same graphing library to render the graphs.

The source for each graph is different. The CPU source (which I should never have mentioned) is the "/logs/resources" directory and the (now broken) daily traffic/bandwidth source is the now-empty-and-no-longer-maintained "/logs/xxxx.thefifthimperium.com/http/hits" directory.
