Custom PHP.ini

Hallo everybody.
I am about to customize PHP.ini following the instructions found at
http://wiki.dreamhost.com/PHP.ini

(unfortunately) I am a windows user so I am going to use putty for shell access.

I would like to ask the forum:
1) is it OK to use putty?
2) if I screw up something, how difficult would be to revert to the original (default) state?

Also, any suggestion/link/hint on the topic is very welcome.
Thanks,
Carlo

[EDIT] For the record, I did proceed using putty and following the steps for "Custom php.ini for a Single domain" at
http://wiki.dreamhost.com/PHP.ini
Everything went well or at least I was able to set the following parameters on PHP.ini:
* post_max_size
* upload_max_filesize
* max_execution_time
* max_input_time

I am still interested to know how to revert back to the default setup.

Just remove the lines you added in your .htaccess file.

Thanks a lot!.
I suppose after cleaning the .htaccess I could safely delete the whole cgi-bin folder....

Cheers

Sure can, unless you've stored other necessary files in it.
