HELP SHELL: Installing new app./Perl's dep/XMLTV.

I tried to install via shell a linux application called XMLTV.
You can get information about XMLTV here http://www.xmltv.org/wiki/ .
It's a software that automatically gets TV Guide producing an XML file.
I would use it as a cronjob, parsing then the guide into HTML.
All is ready, and I purchased Dreamhost basically for SHELL service.
Anyway, now, I have a BIG problem.

How can I install XMLTV (it also vails for any other application) as user? How can I do with PERL's new modules I should install?

I already followed this http://wiki.dreamhost.com/CPAN to install the modules needed in a custom directory, and I gave to XMLTV a custom directory in whitch it installed all the tree.

I accept all the help and I promise to write a WIKI if the problem will be solved.

Did you try exporting /home/facens2/xmltv into the path?

--edit:
Just noticed the XMLTV/Version.pm - directories are CASE sensitive too.
