Tonight before dawn, or tomorrow night before dawn, take a moment to go outside and see if you can see the grains of sand impact our atmosphere at 37 miles per second. Flash! Look toward the Perseid constellation laugh, or north.

The radiant as actually on a line between the constellations of Perseus and Cassiopeia (which looks like a big W or M). During the night, the radiant will slowly move from the northeast to almost straight overhead. Best viewing will be about 4am, and a new moon will make the sky darker than usual. In areas relatively free from light pollution, expect rates of 60-100 per hour between 3am and sunrise.
