So - anyone have any favorite movies coming out (or having come out already) this summer?

Tomorrow I'll probably be going to see Final Fantasy. Hope it's good.

Hmmmm...well, probably Planet of the Apes, because Tim Burton is one of the most interesting filmmakers around, tho I'm disappointed he chose to remake this particular story. I've known a few directors, from B-movie makers to big budget types, and to me, Burton's work is always worth watching. :)

Hopefully I will get to see Final Fantasy, I read their article on the computer system they used to render the graphic animations. Wish I had it, heh.

Also Hope to see Planet of the Apes, although I hope it is worth it. Usually a re-make is almost completely different from the original...maybe they will stick to most of the story line.

Those are the only two on my list, if anyone sees them before me then be sure to give me your thoughts. don't spoil the movie, but your thoughts on how it is would be nice.

Planet of The Apes looks pretty good, actually, but I haven't really been following it. I can tell that at the very least, they made the apes look pretty realistic. As long as the story and acting is good, it'll probably be worth seeing.

I'm definitely looking forward to Final Fantasy. I'm worried that the acting may not be perfect, but I am a pretty big fan of the franchise and the premise so far seems decent. Most movies that branch off of video games tend to be really poor, but Final Fantasy games are each completely different which gives them a lot more leeway on the story-line.

It's not a summer movie, but Lord of The Rings is looking promising as well.

Heh. Since FF is all CGI with no real actors (aside from the voice talent) worrying that the "acting" may not be perfect is a bit of a non-sequitur, doncha think? ;) I saw the trailer in a theatre last week, and it just looked like a smoother version of a computer game, which is, I guess, what they were aiming for. Anyway, I hope it's what you guys want it to be. :)

Well? Anyone else seen the movie Final Fantasy? Surely someone else has. I thought it was pretty good, seemed a lot like those foreign movies where they lip sink the entire time, but that comes with animation....cant possible be perfet. smile

Come on, do tell your thoughts. tongue

Haven't seen it yet, but it's GOT to be better than "Cats and Dogs"! :P
