I'm an embedded/windows software engineer. 'Done quite a bit of it. I know I'm not a web-designer but know enough to put up my lame little gallery site, configure spamassassin and call it good.
I consider what I know, to be bare minimum when getting a dreamhost site & setting stuff up.
The number of people on these boards who know less then I, is boggling to my mind. Why do people with seemingly no knowledge of web design or unix get accounts and then bitch about the dumbest stuff?
Byron..
btw, how do I change my site so people don't have to type 'http' in front of it! I HATE HTTP! ;)

To the best of my knowledge - http: is the protocol portion of the standards based url specification. I don't think you will find a way to eliminate the need for it. That said, some browsers will supply it automatically by default.
FWIW - I'm sure each of us knows less than most everyone else about something!
