QT Streaming - Settings - DreamHost Forum

I've enabled streaming and have made hinted files. Converted MP4 to MOV files using QuickTime Pro. I've played around with the settings but no go. They play OK locally. I upload to my streaming folder and load the URL (as specified by Dreamhost) in QuickTime and the player opens, resizes the window, plays the audio, but no video. Just the QT logo in the video window.

Is this a settings thing when I make the Hinted file in QT? If so, what are the optimum settings?

I've tried with two high speed ISP's and I still get the same results.

Try converting a small test MP4 with a different converter and see if it works.

A different MP4 converter won't do because the native file that I receive is MP4.

I gave up on streaming MP4 and am now converting MP4 to FLV and streaming that just fine.

Using a free converter called Super.

Windows Media Player is completely different, and unsupported.

A different converter can actually make all the difference. QuickTime is often problematic when dealing with container conversion.
