Verify domain for google apps

hi,
how can I verify my domain for google apps? there are two methods for this but I can't follow any of them!
1: Upload an HTML file to ... (can't upload file to specified location)
2: Change ... CNAME record (don't have access to DNS records)

why should I do?

If you own the domain you can ask your Registrar to alter a specific CNAME if your access level doesn't provide the ability for you to do it yourself.
