Dashboard not showing any theme previews

Hello:

I recently upgraded on of my wordpress blogs (sesacreative.biz) to 2.7.1. Ever since the upgrade my theme (vertig-10) has not been working properly. When I set to to that theme, my blog will not load. Nor will any other themes using the wordpress dashboard. The first tech said my blog had been hacked. Then a second one said that the problem was not that it was hacked, but that my config.php file was corrupted. Still the problem has not been fixed. Finally the third one told me he if I sent him a username and password he would look into things on the backend for me. That was six days ago. I have heard nothing back yet and every support ticket I have sent to support to follow up on this has been moved straight to this techs queue and I have not heard anything.

All the techs so far have addressed this theme issue by going in through the backend and changing my current theme to the default blue. You can see the blog fine with this theme, but I have a few problems:

1. I can no longer change my theme through the admin panel. Every theme preview is a blank page, and if I switch to that theme the site will not show up either.

2. thought the problem was with the theme I was using, but there are two other folders on that same domain that are using that theme (vertigo-10) and they are working just fine *sesacreative.biz\/investors* is one url that is using the theme. .

The techs keep changing the theme on the backend, then e-mailing me telling me everything is fine, but clearly its not. I really don't know what else to do. If I can't use the admin panel to change themes this is a much bigger problem than the theme I am using, right?

HELP!
Heather

The only odd thing I see are some odd characters. Your Home and Clients pages have what may be foreign characters, or some other odd glitch. If this is some non-standard character that's working its way into your data, it may be causing some hangups within WordPress.

Does everything else work?

The  character is often indicative of a collation/charset conversion error.

Ok so I fixed the crazy character but it still has not solved the problem. But I just did it on the front end. Is there something I need to do in the actual database? Also, would the character problem keep me from changing the theme. Oh, and can i possibly just manually change the theme to the one i want via the database?

Oh, and thanks for replying. I appreciate the help.

I'd be inclined to revert the database back to a time immediately before you did the 2.7.1 update. Chances are quite high that something went askew during the database update process. Reverting back will allow 2.7.1 to have another crack at it.
