WP 2.7.x slow on dreamhost?

Anyone else seeing dog slow WP performance since 2.7? Actually, 2.6 was pretty bad too. Everything else (non-WP) that I've tried on my sites seems zippy. But WP is *painfully* slow on my account.
Thoughts? Yays? Nays?
