Drupal will not install

I've invited a friend to try, but drupal keeps saying, for hours:

* It doesn't seem like emilmb.dreamhosters.com has been set up for drupal.dreamhost.com?
* If it should be, and the install was started more than an hour ago, you may want to try deleting and re-installing the app
* If you are a DreamHost Apps user, you can check the Discussion Forum or the wiki for further help
* Paid DreamHost customers can submit a support ticket through the DreamHost Panel

This was a problem in the beginning as well. Is it a DNS update we are waiting for?

And still says the same today, some 20 hours after.

Have you tried re-installing it? What's the domain?

Had the problem with Drupal listed here. I suspect it came from not having the name servers set up for Dreamhost when Drupal installed, but I could be wrong.

Deleted Drupal and reinstalled.

Tried to set it up for www.mydomain, as it was originally installed, so it doesn't conflict with Google Apps.

Problem is that it installs for (NO SUBDOMAIN)mydomain, instead of www. That's the same as Google Apps.

And I have no control over subdomains, so I can't fix it.

Drupal can be reinstalled again if you do not use WWW and type another IP name. Also I would recommend to use the links that DreamHost Apps send to your email and click from there instead from the application from DreamHost. Its a pain, but it works for Drupal. the only thing to make sure is to use the DreamHost Apps to update your database. The rest of the kinks, good luck! I hope this is clear.

I am still having problems getting drupal to install. I have tried different domain names and have not had any luck trashing and recreating.

I've been having this problem since yesterday. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is with the free dreamhost apps beta service.

Like SMarcus, I suspect not having the nameservers pointed to Dreamhost before the initial install is the problem. After deleting and reinstalling (though like others, it didn't go back on the www subdomain and is now residing on the same place as Google Apps -- I guess I could try to change google apps to mail.myurl.com), I get the "Drupal Site is Offline" page.

Any thoughts on getting the main URL to work with Drupal?

Can you please let me know which domain or subdomain you're trying to add so I can further look into this for you?

Google apps does state that it's on the same location as when you add an app to 'www' but that is not where google apps actually resides. When you go into the google apps manage section, it will show you the domains that it's using for each app there.
