irc on shared server
Is it allowed possible to set up irc server on dreamhost. I ask it here because i want to know if anyone had experience with that here.

I'm pretty sure this goes against the TOS. Dreamhost specifically states that any IRC servers or bots are not allowed.

No. Persistent processes, such as an IRC server, are not permitted on DreamHost shared servers.
Your best options would be to either host the server on your home connection (an older box running Linux works well) or look into dedicated hosting.
Mark
