switching for shared acount to my own

Hello

I have a couple of websites, a phpbb and a chat room currently at Dreamhost. I rent a bit of space from my friend who has an acount here.

I would like to get my own accound here and move my sites to it.

I have never done that before, so I need to know the process.

Even though your sites are already hosted at DreamHost, I don't think this will simplify the process.

Basically, you will need to follow the same process as if your sites were hosted elsewhere;

Move any domains across to the new account.
Backup and copy all site files.
Backup any databases used by the sites.
Re-Create the databases under the new account.
Restore the databases.
etc.

If there is an easier method, I am unaware of it.
