In response to dalebert's post, I too cannot access via FTP, and no e-mail response. I'm starting to doubt the quality of dreamhost, and with no one to call, it adds to one's angst.

works fine for me. these anonymous posts never update that they are working again or what they did to get it working. It's always worked for me - I use FlashFXP.

My FTP is down too, no response at all and not even a trouble ticket answered.

I have been having reliability problems for the past several weeks, ranging from several hours to several minutes of downtime. Dreamhost says they cannot provide any uptime statistics so it is hard for me to trust that they will be reliable over the long-term.
I have only been a Dreamhost customer for approximately 3 months, so I want to believe they are just working past a few hiccups in their systems. But it's difficult to risk hosting my critical websites with a host that goes up and down like a rollercoaster.
I will post again to let people know if I've had any success. But at the moment, I have many doubts.

Critical sites? Then get a dedicated server.
