I'm thinking about moving 3 of my websites over to Dreamhost. One of the reasons is that they offier Quicktime streaming.

What I want to know is:

Is it possible for me to stream from (for example) a webcam TO the server hosted by Dreamhost and them from there multicast it? Or does Dreamhost only stream from their servers if the source is located there?

No you can't, sorry :(

DreamHost does not support live broadcasting of audio or video content at this time. Streaming of QuickTime movie files (.mov) that have been properly prepared and "hinted" for streaming are supported.
