Files forever payment ?

hii everyone
i'm a customer for dreamhost for a year and half now
everything is goin very fine specially with the support

but at the beginning of january i decided to test files forever system , i liked the idea of selling my own PDF formatted books and work , it went fine too but the problem started with a huge delay with the customer support
i just sent them 2 support requests the first one toke nearly a week to get a reply which wasn't really helpfull and the 2nd one was just and ordinary question with a yes or no answer from files forever support , it's nearly 4 days now
my question was about the payment for the earnings i got from files forever which is a huge sum of money - compared to living level in egypt where i live - it's nearly 2000 USD , and since i'm not covered with the paypal service i can't cash it out through paypal then i have to wait for the check
here in egypt it's very dangerous to send international checks via ordinary mail , they take the check and cash it out with a fake ID , this happened with me before when i tried to get google check with normal mail not DHL which was 1/10 of the amount in the coming check from dreamhost
so i wanted the check to be sent via courier service like DHL or Fedex , or to be sent with anyother money transfere service , westernunion or directly to my master debit card

i don't know if there's any international users here on the forums who are not covered with paypal service or facing the same problem

plus i don't know where's my payment now
it said :
Total for January 2008:
$####.## was made available to your DreamHost account (to either apply to your hosting bill or cash out via PayPal).

i checked every section in the billing panel on my account and didn't see the money or where to request the money as i don't have a paypal account


that's the first problem i faced

the second one is about the gifts section in the billing panel
it show minus " -### " sign before the amount of money earned but in the total earning for january it shows as it's added to my earnings
the billing page shows this :
Sales : Total: $###.##
Gifts :
You gave 20 files for $-###.## = i didn't give any gifts
Total for January 2008: $####.##
- as you see there's a minus sign before the gifts section and obviously the amount of money is added to my whole earnings which left me confused -

i don't know what're gifts and how it's calculated so i hope anyone can help me explaining


sorry for my terrible english but i wish i've explained my point

i forgot to mention that i sent 2 support inquiries
the first is support ticket #2286374 , right now it's been 6 days 1 hour since i submitted it
i fellowed it with another support ticket about the main topic , ticket #2296547 , it's been 4 hrs now and hope to receive their answer soon
i got used to fast responses and understanding from support team , that's why i feel mad when it toke nearly a week now and still didn't get any reply

it seems guys in the billing system is punishing me to publish this post here
today and after nearly 11 days since my first support ticked i received an email telling me this :

Unfortunately we had to set your account payout to a 90 day waiting
period in order to verify the activity on your files forever account.

I just called my bookie and put $50 on you not getting your money because of fraud. Your spamming, defensive behavior & lame threats seem typical for someone that's up to no good.

Right. When spamming and being annoying doesn't work, go with intentionally false accusations. And you wonder why you're being monitored for fraud?

Great theory, though. Millionaires can't afford to give customers back their own money... coming from someone that's probably going to kill himself over a measly $250. haha!

first i started this topic cuz i couldn't understand some terms on my panel and sent to the customer service to get definitions for what i couldn't understand
then i didn't hear back from them for nearly a week so i posted it here so i could get more informations from users who might know more about files forever service

then it started to be non sense when you wake up and find yourself accused for fraudemental behavior , and your account is on hold for 90 days without telling you any good reason
that's as if i'm begging for my earnings which isn't the truth
i'm fighting for my earnings
and by the way it's not 250$ i'm doin all of this about
but even if it's one dollar , it's still my earnings
if i can't pay for the hosting service for one month they will close my account , and that's the same thing
i need a full details about the reasons leaded them to take this decision
as i said , i can't accept just cpl of lines telling me that my account earnings are held

and yes i lost my temper which isn't a good thing but it's due to the way i got into this and of course the money i have to pay for cpl of helpers i used to get my work done who will not accept to stay for another 90 days + cashing the check which makes it 120days total

if you accept this then you are hired

all i wanted is explainations and respect of my time and my work

i want to apologize about my sharp language and losing my temper during last cpl of days
i'm a customer of dreamhost service for a year and half now , and i don't plan to move from its services soon
and i understand that files forever service is still in beta and may face some problems
in addition to the problems we faced in egypt when the main cable providing egypt with internet connection cut off and alot of us faced alot of critical situations with our business and study
just hope you all to accept my apologize

fouadfakhr I am not going to give you a hard time because you're clearly upset about this and have already apologized for lashing out in this public forum. I know that I would be upset if my money was tied up for reasons that weren't exactly clear. Maybe things are a little more complicated in Egypt and my suggestion doesn't really apply there, but since I don't know I am going to mention it anyway.

Why don't you just go ahead and apply for a paypal account? They're free and it seems like all of the problems you're talking about are simply due to the complications of sending a physical check to you overseas. Again maybe you don't have the same options outside of the US, but I recently got a paypal debit card sent to me. It lets me access my paypal funds from any atm or merchant that accepts credit cards.

I know when I travel overseas there is never a problem using my Visa/MC branded cards. The funds are verifiable and readily available to any merchant.

believe me it's really hard to cash out physical checks here
even some banks here refuse to cash out google adsense checks and it takes nearly a month to cash it out
and if you use normal mail service then it will be lost for sure
that's why i prefer to pay 24 USD to get my google checks too
that was the begining of all of this when i asked for alternative way or to be shipped by courier service , also there's payoneer.com debit card or westernunion services which are much fair enough

paypal doesn't accept to open accounts for egyptians , i asked a friend of mine to open one in usa but when i red the TOS i found it might be considered illegal to open one this way , their debit card too has alot of restrictions
that's the problem of paypal briefly
there's alot of alternatives anyway , moneybookers for example
just it's not good to restrict the payments to paypal account holders and the only option is a check in normal mail

files forever service itself is awesome , it needs alot of refining and to add some missing features and it could be a very wonderful stand alone service , i'll not goin to talk about payments again :-(
from my experience with dreamhost hosting service i can tell they can do it but they have to take some steps towards this
specially other alternatives in market don't provide the same infrastructures or reputation of DH and i couldn't trust them when i searched for another service since i'm not using files forever now :-(

by the way , it only takes 60 days to be sure there's no fraud in the payments , see adbrite payment cycle for example , plz don't make them 90 :-(.....

anyway i'm stuck to files forever , once i get my money whether it's after 2 months or 3 months , i'll continue with it again , i have nothing against it anyway just hope it get better

or even when it comes to payment thing in my review
